Saving Beauty from the Beast

From "Saving Beauty from the Beast" By Vicki Crompton and Ellen Zelda Kessner

"Often, young girls, filled with idealist notions, find themselves living a twisted tale of 'Beauty and the Beast'.

At first, Beauty sees the Beast as the handsome prince he once was. But then the evil spell, which may have been cast by the 'sorcery' of his abusive parents, rises up within him, changing him from a caring lover to a controlling monster, who keeps her locked up away from family and friends. Only by staying with him forever - he says he will die without her - can she undo the spell. Only she, if her love is pure and strong enough, can change her monster back into her prince."

Scary thought, huh? I never looked at Beauty and the Beast from that angle.
